Email overview
What you can send with UserSignal Email, and what to set up before your first send.
UserSignal Email sends marketing email to the people who use your product: one-off campaigns, and automated emails that go out when someone does something. It uses the contacts, tags and segments you already have in Users.
What it includes
- Templates — design an email once, in as many languages as your project has, and reuse it.
- Campaigns — send one template to the people you pick, now or at a set time.
- Automations — send emails automatically when someone signs up, gets a tag, enters a segment or reaches a date.
- Sending health — your bounce and spam-complaint rates, and the list of people you never email.
Email is part of the Business plan, which includes 50,000 emails a month and up to 20,000 people per campaign.
Before your first send
- Set up sending. Verify a sending domain, or connect your own SMTP server, in Settings › Email.
- Choose your sender. A From name, a From address on your domain, and the mailbox replies go to.
- Add a DMARC record to your domain if it doesn't have one. Gmail and Yahoo require it from bulk senders.
- Make a template in Email › Templates.
The "Ready for real sends" checklist in Settings › Email shows what is still missing. Until it is complete you can only send test emails to yourself.
Who gets your emails
Only people who are subscribed, at an address your app confirmed, and who have not bounced, complained or unsubscribed. See Who can be emailed for the details.
