Sending through your own SMTP server

Use Amazon SES, Postmark, Mailgun or any SMTP server instead of UserSignal's sending.

If you already have an email service, UserSignal can send your campaigns and automations through it instead. Your server, your reputation.

Connect it

  1. Go to Settings › Email and open Your own SMTP.
  2. Enter the host, port, encryption, username and password from your provider.
  3. Press Save and send a test. UserSignal sends a test email to your address through your server.

When the test arrives, your email goes out through your server from then on.

What changes

  • You don't need a sending domain in UserSignal, and there is no warm-up limit.
  • Authentication (SPF, DKIM, DMARC) is set up with your provider, not here.
  • Bounces and spam complaints are reported by your provider. UserSignal still honours unsubscribes and its own list of people you never email.

Going back

Remove the server in Settings › Email. Email then goes out through UserSignal again, which needs a verified sending domain.
