Product tours overview
What a tour is, how you build one, and what happens before your users see it.
A product tour walks people through your app one step at a time. Each step is either a tooltip that points at one of your app's own buttons, menus or fields, or a pop-up in the middle of the page. Tours run in the UserSignal widget you already installed, so there is nothing new to add to your code.

What a step can do
- Point at any element on the page, or sit in the middle as a pop-up.
- Show a title, some text, and an image, a GIF or a video (a YouTube, Vimeo or Loom link, or a file you upload).
- Carry a link button to a help article or anywhere else.
- Move on when the person clicks Next, or when they click the element itself.
- Send the person to another page and carry on there, start another tour, or run one of your app's in-app actions, such as opening a drawer the next step explains.
How you build one
- Go to Engage › Tours and press New tour.
- Press Edit in your app. Your app opens in a new tab with the builder on top: click the element a step should point at and write the step right next to it. See Building a tour in your app.
- Choose who sees it, on which page it starts, and how often. See Who sees a tour, and how often.
- Translate it if your project has more than one language.
- Press Publish.
Drafts and publishing
Everything you change in a tour's steps is a draft. Your users keep seeing the tour as it was the last time you pressed Publish, and the editor says Unpublished changes until you publish again. Pause stops a published tour without deleting it.
Who sees a tour, the page it starts on, how often it starts and what happens when an element is missing apply as soon as you save them.
Tours are part of the Pro plan.
